Matthews and Mint Hill, North Carolina are fantastic, cute, little suburbs of the Charlotte, NC metro area! With close proximity to the city, many families move to these small towns to stay close to work and other big city amenities while being able to escape most of the hustle and bustle of Charlotte traffic and general business.   9. Spend Labor Day weekend at Matthews Alive: The Matthews Alive Festival is a Labor Day weekend celebration dedicated to the support of local non-profit organizations, ride all the rides and check out all the local vendors.
  10. Catch a dollar movie at Cinemark Movies 10: Cinemark Movies 10 offers $1 second run movies, and 75 cents for groups of three or more on mondays! Take a group and see a great movie.
