When Chris and Will Haughey created Tegu, they wanted to create a for-profit company in Honduras that would promote a positive social impact and that’s what they have done. They now run a fully independent toy factory outside of Tegucigalpa. They are paying their employees a living wage and creating long-term careers instead of tasked based jobs, Tegu is bringing world-class employment standards to Central America. They work with local Honduran co-ops who hand pick mature trees for their use. Tegu believes that all children have the ability to build, imagine and create and their blocks can be their canvas. Tegu blocks are specifically designed to fit a child’s hand, based on how they hold and play with them. They do not come with instruction manuals, and they are just made to inspire creativity across all ages.
