Moulin Roty

Moulin Roty

Back in 1972, a group of 20 friends decided to take a leap of faith and purchase an old mill that is falling apart and renovate it. Their families moved in and began crafting, making screen prints and other craft items like jewelry and lamps. Five years later, two products changed the direction for Moulin Roty. A small car made of wood, foam, and fabric and the ‘la douillette’ which is a rag doll, these two items put them on the map with the toy markets. They went on to create decorative items, wooden paintings, height charts, and more. In 1988 a fire destroyed the whole workshop, destroying everything inside, the designs, machines, and files. Moulin Roty moved Nort sur Erdre and began to start again with more emphasis on sales and design. Today Moulin Roty has been in business for over 40 years and sends their products near and far from France to Australia and many places in between.
