Adrian Peterson Gets Probation & Community Service in Child Abuse Case

CaptureProfessional football player, Adrian Peterson, was sentenced today in the child abuse case that shook the NFL recently. He received 80 hours of community service, probation, and random drug tests. There was supposedly a pleas deal in which Peterson pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.

If you remeber, Peterson was indicted in September on a felony charge for injury to a child for using a wooden switch on his 4 year old son in suburban Houston, TX. Adrian stated that he never meant to hurt his son and he was simply disciplining his son in the same way in which he was disciplined growing up in the Texas. The boy suffered had cuts and bruises on his thighs, back, and even testicles!

Peterson has continually expressed his sorrow in regards to this entire situation and continues to profess his love for his son. This situation brings up the age old question: To spank or not to spank? What are your thoughts? Do you spank? Obviously this was considered child abuse due to the injuries and severity. Do you believe Peterson should have received a tougher punishment?
